Purchase Terms and Conditions

General

Any work carried out by Oil Tank Change will become null & void if the work completed is subject to misuse or negligence. It shall also be null & void if repaired, modified or tampered with by anyone other than an engineer from Oil Tank Change.

Oil Tank Change will accept no liability for, or guarantee suitability of, materials supplied by the client and will accept no liability for any consequential damage or fault. Oil Tank Change reserve the right to charge the consumer additional time incurred at our standard hourly rate, if the issue is because of the consumer and due to issues, that could have reasonably been foreseen.

All materials supplied and installed will remain the property of Oil Tank Change until payment is received in full for the agreed sum or money charged for works undertaken.

Work is guaranteed only in respect of work directly undertaken by Oil Tank Change and payment in full has been made. Any non-related faults arising from recommended work which has not been undertaken by Oil Tank Change will not be guaranteed. Oil Tank Change are only held liable for works that we have carried out and cannot accept
liability for the work of other businesses.

The client shall be solely liable for any hazardous situation in respect of OFTEC regulations or OFTEC warning notice issued. Oil Tank Change shall only be liable for rectifying works completed by Oil Tank Change and work that is stated in the contract.

Oil Tank Change are only responsible for the disconnection and reconnection of the oil supply up to your fire valve (or including fire valve if Oil Tank Change has supplied this as part of the quoted works). Boilers need to be isolated before our attendance.

Although Oil Tank Change accepts employer’s liability for its employees and for sub-contractors, the customer is under a duty of care as owner or occupier of the site to take
reasonable steps to ensure the ordinary safety, security and cleanliness of the site and to advise Oil Tank Change of any circumstance which might affect Health & Safety.

The Oil Tank Change will ensure the area of work is left in a safe and reasonably clean and tidy condition.

All guarantees will be registered on the client’s behalf once payment is received in full for the parts and materials used.

Quotations

Quotations issued are a fixed cost (unforeseen circumstances exempt) including Labour and Materials and are charged at the current VAT rate at the date of invoice.

Where a quotation is provided every effort will be made to supply the quantity, quality and description of the goods supplied and any specification for them shall be as set out in the quotation.

Quotations are valid for a period of 30 days from date of issue.

Special Orders / Non-refundable deposits

Consumers have the right to cancel an order once placed. However, any special/bespoke- tank products and/or items that are made to order will need to be paid for in full on ordering from the manufacturer. These bespoke tank products and or items will be non-refundable.

Hourly Rate Work

The Client shall only be charged for the time spent relating to the client’s work. All rates are
non-negotiable.

Workmanship and Product Guarantee

Workmanship will be covered by 1 year Guarantee on behalf of Oil Tank Change, including
labour, pipework, base work etc.

Extended Tank Manufacturers Guarantees apply for the Oil Tank only, providing an annual check/service is carried out inspecting the integrity of the tank, pipework and surrounding fittings on a yearly basis.

Payment

Payment is due within 7 days from the date of completion, unless agreed otherwise by Oil Tank Change to the client at the time of proceeding with any quotations issued.

The customer is not entitled to withhold payment in full by reason of minor defects which can be remedied under a snagging procedure. Oil Tank Change will rectify these within a reasonable time of notification considering the obtaining of any necessary replacement parts. This does not affect your statutory rights.
